Raj Steels: A Mobile-First Website for a Building Materials Supplier
Raj Steels sells steel, cement and other materials that people need in bulk, for real building work. Before ExioCraftz, they had no website at all. This page shows what we built for them and why.
Overview
At a glance
- Client: Raj Steels, a building-materials supplier in Jhansa, Haryana
- What we built: a mobile-first business website with a product catalogue, quote requests, and call and WhatsApp buttons
- Live site: rajsteels.exiocraftz.com
- Built by: the two founders, Krish Grover and Aagam Jain
The challenge
The challenge: no website
A customer planning a build wants to know a few things before they pick up the phone. Does this supplier stock TMT bars? Cement? Roofing sheets? How do I ask for a price?
With no website, Raj Steels had no place to answer those questions. Customers could not browse what the shop sells or send an enquiry online. Anyone searching for a supplier had nothing of theirs to find.
The job was simple to say and careful to do: give the business a clear home online, where a customer can see the range and ask for a quote in a couple of taps.
The build
What we built
A custom business website, designed phone-first, because that is how most customers will open it.
- A product catalogue by category. Steel and TMT, cement, roofing, pipes and fittings, and construction materials. Each category lists what is in it, for example TMT bars, mild steel, angles, channels and beams under Steel and TMT.
- "Get a quote" actions. The hero has a clear Get a Quote button next to Explore Products and Call Us, so the next step is always visible.
- Call and WhatsApp buttons. Call and WhatsApp icons sit in the header, and stay on screen while you scroll, so a customer can reach the business from any part of the page.
- Clear branding. The site says who Raj Steels is and where they are (Jhansa, Haryana) in the first screen.
- Search groundwork. Page titles, descriptions and structure are set up so Google can understand what the business sells and where. This is a foundation, and it takes time to show up in search.
The customer journey
How it works for Raj Steels' customers
- Land and see what they sell. The first screen names the business, the town and what they supply.
- Browse by category. A customer looks for steel, cement, roofing, pipes or other materials, and sees what is under each.
- Reach out in one tap. They ask for a quote, call, or message on WhatsApp, whichever they prefer.
The business gets enquiries that start with the customer already knowing what Raj Steels sells.
Design
Design decisions
- Mobile-first. We designed the phone screen first and then widened it for desktop, not the other way round. Buttons are large and easy to tap.
- Fast. Lean code and optimised images, so the site is light on a phone connection. We do the same on every build.
- Clear calls to action. One main next step per screen: get a quote, call, or WhatsApp. No hunting for a contact page.
- Its own look. The site has Raj Steels' own colours and voice, strong, simple and built around the trade. It is custom, not a template with the logo swapped.
Next
What's next
This is an early project and we are keeping it honest. We have no figures to share yet, and we will add results and a client quote here once we have real ones. Meanwhile we keep supporting the site after launch, and the catalogue can grow as the business adds products.
